Lesson 8: A Return to Wholeness
When you have been doing this work for a while you will find that you feel a wonderful lightness of being, a sense of fullness in your heart, a joy that bubbles up from within your soul. This is a state of grace. Fear gradually diminishes and is replaced by peace and joy. The gnawing aloneness and emptiness within that led to addictive behavior no longer exists when you stay in contact with your soul and meet its deep need for love through connection with your spiritual guidance. You will often feel a sense of aliveness, wholeness, and integration.
Gradually, the experience of separation from your soul and others that so pained you will diminish, and you will feel a sense of oneness with yourself and others. You will find yourself unwilling to behave in any way that hurts yourself and others. You will experience deep trust in yourself and your spiritual guidance. And you will discover that you no longer have to strive to believe in God, for you know God.
No longer will you experience others in terms of “us” and “them”. There is no judgment, no enemy. No one is left out, no one is less than you or more than you, regardless of their gender, sexual identity, race, religion, or spiritual path. You will come to understand that all ways of learning about love are valuable and all paths intended to unite with God lead to God.
When you operate from wholeness, you never have to wait for someone to fill your emptiness. You never have to feel alone. You have the complete freedom to fill yourself with love and peace whenever you want. You never have to wait for someone to come along to take loving action on your behalf. You have the complete freedom to take that action for yourself. As children, we did not have that freedom. We needed others to fill us and take action on our behalf. When they didn’t, we may have become locked into thinking that we need others to do this for us and that doing it ourselves was selfish or too much work, failing to see that taking responsibility for ourselves is a most delicious privilege and freedom.
The power struggles that exist in so many relationships fall by the wayside as you learn to let go of trying to control others and take responsibility for yourself. Conflicts get resolved in healthy ways. You will find all your relationships improving.
The Dissolution of Linear Time. Instead of racing toward the future or grieving the past, there is a profound “verticality” to the present moment. You aren’t just in time. You feel like the container in which time happens.
Heightened awareness and intuition: You “just know” things without logic. Synchronicities increase, gut feelings prove accurate, and you sense energy in people, places, or situations more strongly. Psychic or empathic abilities may sharpen.
Shift from fear/judgment to love/compassion: Less criticism of yourself or others. Ego-driven reactions (anger, jealousy, competition) lose power. You respond with understanding, forgiveness, and unconditional love. A deep sense of unity/oneness with nature, people, and the universe replaces feelings of separation.
Inner peace and detachment: You feel calm and centered even amid external chaos. Old dramas, materialism, status-seeking, or toxic situations no longer hook you as strongly. You observe life more than getting swept up in it. You remain nonreactive when confronted with challenging people or situations. You immediately accept the situation.
Living in the present. When you are present, when your attention is fully in the Now, that Presence flows into and transforms what you do. You are present when what you are doing is not primarily a means to an end (money, prestige, winning) but fulfilling in itself, when there is joy and aliveness in what you are doing. You do. And, of course, you cannot be present unless you become friendly with the present moment. You are still, alert, and opt for what is. Instead of reacting against a situation, you merge with it.
Achieving Presence. When you meet with people, you give them your fullest attention. You are no longer there primarily as a person, but as a field of awareness, of alert Presence. The field of awareness that arises between you becomes the primary purpose of the interaction. That space of awareness becomes more important than what you may be talking about.
Creativity. Universal intelligence creates through you. The act of creation does not feel like hard work or be stressful.
Changes in perception of time and reality: Time may feel accelerated, slowed, or less linear. Everything starts to feel like interconnected energy rather than solid, separate objects. You see “perfection” or divine order in experiences that once seemed random or negative.
Lifestyle and physical shifts: Craving lighter foods, releasing toxins (people, habits, environments), deeper connection to nature, or sensitivity to energies. Some report physical “ascension symptoms” like mood swings, sleep changes, headaches, or fatigue as the body adjusts to higher frequencies—but these aren’t required and can have mundane explanations too.
Heart-centered living and joy as default: Decisions come from love, gratitude, and service rather than obligation or fear. Authenticity rises; you prioritize what lights you up and let go of what doesn’t align.
